  • Hello

Thanks so much for stopping by! After five awesome years in Durham, NC, my husband Caleb and I have relocated to Indianapolis, and soon we'll be off to Los Angeles. Since we're traveling around on this great adventure, I'm not currently able to take on any additional weddings. Once we're settled, I look forward to getting back to doing what I love best, photographing weddings! In the mean time, please feel free to take a look around my blog. Thanks for being here!

Saying Goodbye

Growing up in Kansas, I only experienced the ocean a handful of times. Each trip involved a dreadfully long car ride, crammed into a back seat, bickering with my sisters. The destinations, however, were always worthwhile. The sand. The sun. The sea. Pure joy!

During our senior year at the University of Kansas, Caleb and I were discussing where he should apply to graduate school. When Duke was mentioned, I checked a map to ensure North Carolina’s placement on the coast, where I remembered it from fifth grade geography, then began building my case for Duke. Fortunately, Duke had a few other good things going for it, and we made the move to Durham. I don’t know if living in a state solely because it borders an ocean is considered “making it” for anyone else, but for a 22-year-old from smack dab in the middle of the country, it definitely felt like it.

Almost six years later, I am so proud to say that Caleb has finished his PhD. Beyond being an awesome engineer, he’s my faithful second shooter, ever-calming influence, patient listener, and endless supporter. Now, we’re about to make a big leap: Caleb accepted a position with a global engineering company that will require us to relocate to three new cities over the next two years, each for about eight months. Our first stop is Indianapolis, and the move is set for the end of this month. From there we’ll go to another US city, or elsewhere in the world. We couldn’t be more excited about the opportunity!

I’m pretty creep, huh? Anyway…

It’s not going to be easy to leave our beach umbrella behind (so, I’m taking it with us, even if we’re the only people in Indiana that own a beach umbrella). More importantly, we’re going to miss the amazing people we’ve met in North Carolina. Thank you to all of the brides and grooms who have been so kind to let me be a part of their lives, as well as my industry peers who have been nothing but supportive as I made the leap into wedding photography head first.

Indianapolis, here we come!

Cathy + Greg | Cobblestone Hall Wedding | Raleigh

Cathy and Greg were married in downtown raleigh on Saturday at the beautiful Sacred Heart Cathedral. Their reception followed at Cobblestone Hall, and the always-amazing Raleigh wedding coordinator Erin McLean put together all of the lovely details. Luxe Apothecary did a great job on the girls’ makeup and Von Kekel took care of their hair. Mother Nature was gearing up to provide us with an awesome day as the girls got dressed at The Renaissance in North Hills.

DJ Ken Holmes and this guest’s red sequins kept the party going.
The bouquets were crafted by Fleurtations.

Cathy and Greg, your wedding was a blast! I hope you are having a fabulous honeymoon!

Raleigh Marbles Museum Wedding | Caroline + Albert

Caroline and Albert’s downtown Raleigh wedding was held at Marbles Kids Museum on Saturday. The venue was absolutely as cool as it sounds and Caroline and Albert’s friends and family were amazing. Thank you guys so much for including me in your lovely ceremony and unique museum reception! It was a blast. Wishing you much happiness.
Toward the end of the evening, the guests’ karaoke performances kept the party going and that dance floor packed.
Caroline’s dad even got in on the karaoke action.
Raleigh Rickshaw helped with the sendoff.
